orphanages
Children at Asirvad Orphanage in India.

Ashirvad Orphanage – Tuni, India: There are over 80 children living at this home, 45 fully supported by HALO. This includes all needs of the children, staffing, a building for them, education, and medical supplies. The other children in the home are provided beds and a box to keep their things in. It is our goal to expand this home, allowing more children to come in off the streets. This area was affected greatly by the Tsunami and in 2004, HALO provided funding for local children.

Lily of the Valley Orphanage – Tijuana, Mexico: This is the first orphanage HALO supported and has had a lasting relationship with the children and staff of this home for 3 years. HALO provides this home with tuition for education, school uniforms, and other supplies. HALO also funds projects such as providing a school room for 3-5 year olds, staff to care for toddlers, and basic upkeep of the home. There are 90-110 children in this home at any given time. In the fall of 2007, HALO will send a team of volunteers including a dentist to provide general care for the children.

Timau Orphanage – Timau, Kenya: This home was established in January of 2007 in the mountains of Kenya. Currently there are 12 very grateful boys who stay here. Almost every child lost their parents to the AIDS epidemic. HALO is looking to expand this home to 36 children.

Isiolo Orpahange – Isiolo, Kenya: This building was previously a factory that made Aspergum, used in soda products. It is slowly being turned into a home for street children in Isiolo – a town in Western Kenya. This summer HALO Ambassadors stayed at the home and got to know the beautiful children.

Tumaini Mud Huts – Naibor, Kenya: Also hit by the AIDS epidemic, 13 children were sleeping on the floor of three mud huts until recently. HALO provided beds, school fees, tuition, and funding for basic needs.

Voice of Hope – Kampala, Uganda: The home is one room with cement floor and no lighting. The children do everything in this room – eat, study, and sleep (no beds). The kitchen is an outdoor campfire and they wash their clothes in buckets. They retrieve their water by walking to town. There are currently 35 children of all ages in this home. HALO is starting a project to move these children to a home and support them.

Land of Judah – Managua, Nicaragua: The average income is $2 per day. Those who are computer proficient and can speak English make twice that. HALO is instilling an education center that will provide computer training and English classes for three orphanages in the area.

We offer programs for orphanages all over the world. If you are interested please contact us at halo@haloworldwide.org.
