Mengo Home – Kampala, Uganda

The Mengo Home houses 20 young girls who were previously living on the streets. The Mengo Home is funded with profits raised from the Jefferson City Branch of HALO. This safe haven meets all basic, educational, and emotional needs for these at-risk children.

Featured Champion – Joy

Joy is 9 years old. Her mother abandoned her on the side of the road. They were traveling, and her mother told her that she would be back but never returned. Joy did not know what to do until she was eventually brought into the Mengo Home. She knows her mother’s name but does not know where she is.
